OCTOBER 14, 2022, DEFENDERS OF UKRAINE DAY. Although I have shared my contemplative arrangement of Ukraine’s national anthem Shche ne Vmerla Ukrainy for Woodwind Quintet with my friends on Instagram and Facebook, I decided that I would do an official global release of this poignant, intimate rendition on all musical platforms to keep Ukraine in the forefront of everyone’s minds and hearts. I have chosen October 14, 2022, as the official release date for this piece….
Moved by recent events with the war in Ukraine, I felt compelled to write a new contemplative music arrangement of Mykhailo Verbytsky’s Ukrainian National Anthem (Shche ne Vmerla Ukrainy) for Wind Quintet. I was so overcome by emotion that I found myself breaking down in tears as I wrote this. I hope this piece resonates with you. This is dedicated to the people of Ukraine.
